The MX series, developed by Juniper Networks, is a series of edge routers and switches. First released in 2006 were the MX960, MX240, and MX480. With the release of the next generation routers, called MX "3D" in 2009, they offered IPv6 support and a new Trio chipset. A few years later, they were improved on to increase their bandwidth.
