What are Port Channels?

A Port Channel, otherwise known as a Link Aggregation Group (LAG), is a communication link between two switches. They aggregate multiple physical interfaces into one logical interface. In other words, they combine the bandwidth of multiple ethernet ports. By doing so, port channels can provide higher bandwidth, load balancing, and link redundancy in cases where links were to fail.
